We won’t mince words – Lake of the Woods is a strong contender for the title of ‘Best Fishing Lake in North America,’ if not the entire world. At 85 miles long and 56 miles wide and up to 315 feet deep in places, this lake breeds enormous game fish of all species. When our guides take you out on Lake of the Woods, you can hope to catch:

• Walleye
• Northern Pike
• Muskellunge
• Lake Trout
• Crappie 
• Smallmouth Bass
• Perch, Largemouth Bass, and other species

Shady Roost staff of friendly and knowledgeable fishing guides will take you out on an all-day fishing adventure. You’re welcome to bring your own rod, bait and tackle but don’t worry if you forgot; we have all the gear you need! While you’re out with your guides from 7:15 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon, our guides will regale you with funny tales of fishing trips past, most of which are actually true! Midway through your day, you’ll stop for a fresh shore lunch made from your morning catch. We also will clean and package your fish to take home!

Depending on the species you want to chase, we also fish Kakagi Lake just down the road as well.
